Pennsylvania Man Admits to Decapitating Mom's Chihuahua, Originally Claimed β€˜The Devil Did It'

A 32-year-old Pittsburgh man is going to jail after he pleaded guilty to decapitating his mother's Chihuahua.

An Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge sentenced Matthew Ondo to spend one to two years in prison on Tuesday for animal cruelty. Ondo also received five years' probation and was ordered to undergo substance abuse and mental health evaluations.

Ondo was arrested in February and denied killing ``Izzy,'' a 14-month-old teacup Chihuahua despite being covered in splatters of the dog's blood and flesh. Police found his bloody machete and a bloody butcher's knife near the dog's body in the backyard.

Police say Ondo claimed, ``The devil did it. Allah did it.''

Ondo also received time served plus five years' probation after pleading guilty to corruption of minors and indecent exposure in an unrelated case.
