Prosecutors say he's a monument to deception.
The former owner of a suburban Pittsburgh tombstone company pleaded guilty Monday to charges he failed to deliver on orders after taking more than $90,000 from 51 grieving families.
Curtis Eakman faces up to seven years in prison on each of two counts of theft by deception and one count of deceptive business practices at his Penn Hills company.
His lawyer says he wants a sentence that will allow Eakman to quickly repay his customers.
The 53-year-old is scheduled for sentencing July 7.
Prosecutors say Eakman failed to communicate with Penn Hills Monuments customers and racked up debts with his engraver, installer and granite supplier.
Penn Hills is about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh.
