Pa. Teen Charged in Nativity Vandalism

Teen accused of scrawling symbols on baby Jesus statue before hanging it in a tree

A Pennsylvania teen faces charges in the disfigurement of a baby Jesus figure from a church's Nativity display.

Elizabeth Bossert, 18, scrawled anarchy symbols, devil horns and messages on the figure at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bangor, Northampton County in early January, according to police.

The figure was found hanging in a tree outside the church on Jan. 3.

Investigators say tips led to vandalism and criminal mischief charges being filed against Bossert on Jan. 25. She's scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 21.

A phone listing for Bossert wasn't immediately available.
