Iowa Teen Survives Train Accident, Gets Arrested

An Iowa teenager miraculously escaped with just cuts and bruises when he drunkenly passed out on train tracks Sunday night.

But If 17-year-old Christian Lashaw wasn't having a bad enough day, he was arrested and received a delayed referral to juvenile court for trespassing and public intoxication, the Des Moines Register reported.

Two Iowa Interstate Railroad engineers thought they saw something on the tracks just before at 11 p.m. on Sunday and slammed on the brakes as soon as they realized it was a person, the Associated Press cites from the police report.

Lashaw was already run over by the engine and the first car before the train came to a stop.

He was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines with only cuts on the back of his head and a bruise on his thigh. He is in good condition and will likely be released from the hospital in a day or two, a hospital spokesman told MSNBC.com

Lashaw told police he was drinking at the 80/35 music festival when he blacked out in about the worst spot possible, according to the Des Moines Register.
