Nearly $200K in Cash Blows Around on Pa. Highway

Bank courier van loses bags of cash in Western Pa.

A bank courier van spilled nearly $200,000 in cash along a Pennsylvania highway, and some motorists stopped to grab it.

Much of the money was blown around by the wind, police said.

β€œWell into six figures” in cash is missing after the money grab in Upper St. Clair, just southwest of Pittsburgh, said Lt. James Englert.

Police were investigating why the door of the Fidelity Courier Service van opened. But they say the fact the door opened doesn't mean the money was free. They say taking it is theft.

One person in a black pickup truck apparently grabbed a good amount of the money.

Anyone who took money has a two-week grace period to return it without fear of prosecution.

The courier company offered a reward for the return of the money.
