Drunk Mom Slaps Teen, Drives Off: Police

A woman's allegedly drunken tirade resulted in her arrest after several people say she slapped a teenage girl.

Lori Yiashia, of Bensalem, Pa. is facing charges after investigators say she attacked the 14-year-old girl.

Police say Yiashia was drunk last Tuesday when she pulled up along the 2400 block of Ogden Avenue in Bensalem and began yelling profanities at a group of kids, multiple witnesses told Bensalem Police.

Witnesses tell NBC10's George Spencer they saw Yiashia circle the block several times before getting out of the car and attacking the teenage girl.

Police say Yiashia slapped the girl, pulled her hair and scratched her before driving off with her 15-year-old daughter in the car.

Witnesses said that Yiashia appeared drunk and smelled of alcohol during the alleged attack.

Police arrested Yiashia a short time later at her house, which is just two blocks away. While in police custody Yiashia tested for a .19 blood alcohol content -- more than two times the legal limit.

Neighbors say there had been ongoing tensions between that teenage girl and Yiashia's daughter.

Bensalem District Judge Leonard Brown arraigned Yiashia on nine separate counts including DUI, endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness. She was sent to county jail but later released after posting $7,5000 cash bail.
