This is a real polar bear -- don't worry none of those are on the loose in Delaware.

UPDATE: The missing faux-bear was recovered Saturday morning. The bear was unscathed except for some damage to it's left paw, according to New Castle County Police.

In one of the stranger thefts in some time, vandals yanked an eight-foot fiberglass polar bear from a New Castle County mini golf course.

The sculpture, described as a white fiberglass polar bear, was taken from the Delcastle Driving Range on Millcreek Road in Wilmington, Del.

Thieves had to fight to get this bear off the course as it was bolted down. The unknown vandals used tools to take the bear sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, according to New Castle County Police.

There is no word on what mini golf hole is now without its doodad.

The same zoo -- make that mini golf course -- had a 10-foot giraffe stolen a few years back. It was eventually returned, said police.
