Thieves Swipe Hundreds of Pounds of Frozen Meatballs: Cops

Thieves make off with more than 500 pounds of frozen meatballs as truck driver sleeps, cops say

Philadelphia Police are trying to figure out who made off with more than 500 pounds worth of meatballs overnight.

A truck driver parked his rig along the 500 block of N Columbus in Old City early Monday and was sleeping when two people reportedly broke into his trailer and began unloading cases worth of frozen meatballs, according to police.

Another truck driver spoiled the heist around 12:50 a.m. and the reported thieves sped off in what appeared to be a brown Ford Windstar van, according to Philly.com.

It’s unclear why the thieves would target 510 pounds of frozen meat or how they would unload the goods.

Anyone with information on the heist should contact Philadelphia Police.
