Man With 1,000 Child Porn Videos Sentenced to Prison

An Irving man that told prosecutors he had about 1,000 videos of child pornography was sentenced to federal prison on Monday.

Travis Olt, 40, received a sentence of 150 months in prison following Olt's August 2013 guilty plea on charges of transporting and shipping child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney's office, Olt admitted to "intentionally and knowingly received child pornography" using a file-sharing program on his computer.

In May of 2013, federal agents, including personnel from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations branch seized several computers at Olt's home, according to documents filed in the case.

Attorneys said the investigation was part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The Plano Police Department contributed to the investigation, along with federal agents.
