Man Goes to Great Lengths to Break Into Tobacco Shop

Newly released video demonstrates just how far a man went to break into a Fairfax County tobacco shop three weeks ago.

Surveillance camera footage from Nov. 16 shows a man slowly driving into the Huntington Tobacco Mart’s empty parking lot shortly after 2 a.m. Though not recorded on video, police say he shattered the glass on a barred window.

He's seen on video wriggling underneath one of the bars to gain entry. The passageway is so tight that his clothes start to ride up and he is forced to twist his neck 90 degrees in order to fit.

Once inside, the man darts through the store and grabs merchandise. He then leaps over the counter, his hands full and his bag overflowing with stolen goods. The man then flees the scene.
