Man Dies After Fall Inside Center City Elevator

A man has died after falling inside a Center City Philadelphia high-rise elevator and hitting his head, police tell NBC10.

The 39-year-old collapsed inside a lift at 1700 Arch Street just before 8 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Officials believe he may have suffered a medical issue at that time.

Police said the man's head hit the elevator floor causing sudden death. He was taken from the building to nearby Hahnemann University Hospital and pronounced dead.

Police have not released his identity. The incident remains under investigation.
