Sticky Notes Could Link Pennsylvania Mall Robbery Suspect to Other Heists

A man awaiting arraignment on charges he robbed two stores at a major Pittsburgh-area mall may be linked to several other heists through orange sticky notes police say he used to communicate his demands for money.

For now, Monroeville police have charged 21-year-old Demetryaiss Holyfield with robbing the Things Remembered and Work 'N Gear store at the Monroeville Mall on Thursday. Police say he entered both stores claiming to have a gun and demanding money and took about $700 about 11:30 a.m. Police say Holyfield tried to rob a third store in the mall, but fled as mall security chased him out of the mall.

Police believe he may be responsible for dollar store robberies in Sharpsburg and Apollo, as well as other heists in Ross Township.

Online court records don't list an attorney for him.
