Drought Reveals Stolen Car Graveyard

Low levels at Lake Travis blamed on the drought are leading to the discovery of some vehicles believed stolen decades ago.

Travis County sheriff's Detective Mike Morton says the lowering lake levels have allowed "some treasures to pop up,"

KVUE-TV reports one recovered sports car, reported stolen in 1988, still had the keys in the ignition. A Kawasaki motorcycle removed from Thursday from Lake Travis at Pace Bend Park was reported stolen in June.

Morton warns thieves that the lake near Austin, Texas is a poor place to abandon stolen items.

He doesn't want anybody thinking they "can come out here and start dumping vehicles and we are not going to find them."
