A convicted drug dealer-turned-author is asking police to return his 330-page novel and several handwritten screenplays that were allegedly taken from his mother's home in a 2014 raid.
The Easton Express-Times reports 38-year-old Wayne Gayle has petitioned a Northampton County judge to return seven screenplays, the novel and 40 to 80 scene cards_ all written while he served five years in prison.
Gayle says he sent the works to his brother, who put them in a safe at their mother's Easton home.
Attorney Richard Santee says police have no idea what happened to the documents and they shouldn't be expected to produce them.
Gayle is currently serving an 18- to 36-month sentence after pleading guilty to possession with intent to deliver drugs and fleeing police.
