Delaware Motorcyclist Hits Deer, Gets Hit By Car

The Delaware State Police was investigating after a fatal crash in Laurel involving a motorcycle, car and a deer.

Troopers said the crash happened around 8:45 p.m. on August 9 on Laurel Road just west of Christ Church Road when a small female deer ran into the roadway and into a motorcyclist's path.

Troopers said the motorcyclist struck the deer and was thrown from the vehicle. Troopers said the driver of a Ford Mustang failed to see the motorcyclist lying in the roadway and ran over him.

Troopers said the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital where he died. State Police identified the motorcyclist as 45-year-old Brian Davis of Laurel.

Troopers said the driver of the Mustang and her two passengers were uninjured. The deer also died as a result of the crash.
