Man Hurt as Car Hits Cow

A driver was hospitalized in critical condition after crashing into a cow along a rural road overnight.

The 21-year-old Berks County man was driving north along Route 22A in Bridport, Vt. shortly after midnight Monday when he hit a cow that was in the road. Police said the car was badly damaged.

Anthony Care, of Bernville, Pa., was hospitalized at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

It wasn't clear the condition of the cow.

Bridport is about 36 miles south of Burlington, Vt.
