Cab Driver Defecates on Philly Street

A cab driver makes a disgusting bathroom stop in a Philadelphia neighborhood, and a private surveillance cam gets it all on video

A cab driver appears to make a disgusting bathroom stop on a street in Philadelphia.

Thomas Vandergrift's home surveillance camera along the 1800 block of Bainbridge Street captured the moment, which happened around 5 a.m. on Friday the 13th.

"It's funny if it wasn't so disgusting, I mean, who does that?" Vandergrift said to NBC10's Katy Zachry.

"It was just sitting there, yes, all weekend -- with flies all over it."

The video of the alleged smelly mess got posted on YouTube, picked up by Philly Post and then Gawker. Now the city's Parking Authority is investigating.

The Freedom Taxi driver's license is suspended while the PPA looks into things, spokesperson Marty O'Rourke tells NBC10.

On Monday a Freedom Taxi employee showed up at the scene to clean up the mess but the job wouldn't be completed until Tuesday.

The owner of the cab company didn't want to talk but an employee who asked not to be identified said the company fired the driver.
