Bank Robber Uses Christmas Card to Make Demand: Authorities

Authorities said a man accused of robbing a North Jersey bank last month made his demand for money in a Christmas card he passed to the teller.

That's according to court records made public on Monday in the case of Larry Zhou, a 31-year-old Morris Plains resident.

An affidavit filed by a Denville police detective stated that a day after the Dec. 27 robbery occurred, a Morris County Probation Department employee who saw surveillance video of the robbery told authorities that the man appeared to be Zhou. Authorities soon learned that Zhou owns the same type of a car used in the robbery.

Zhou was charged Dec. 29. He's due to make his initial court appearance Wednesday.

Authorities have not said how much money was taken in the robbery.
