Baby Ducklings Hatch Outside NJ Chick-fil-A

South Jersey restaurant welcomes 10 baby ducklings with the help of local conservationists

Spring is finally in the air. And so is the pitter patter of little feet -- webbed feet that is.

After weeks of anticipation, Chick-fil-A employees in Audubon Crossings, N.J. got a special treat Tuesday afternoon when 10 adorable baby ducklings hatched outside their restaurant drive-thru.

โ€œWe donโ€™t know why she decided to nest at our restaurant but we were happy to welcome her as a Chick-fil-A guest,โ€ said franchise operator Charles Bohs.

Earlier this month landscapers clearing undergrowth found a mother duck sitting on her eggs. Local conservationist Jennifer Hauck and her husband Bob stepped in to make sure mother duck was well cared for.

The Haucks visited her every day making sure she was well-fed, healthy and safe from predators.

Restaurant employees were happy with how things turned out.

โ€œIt has been fun to watch her over the past few weeks, and weโ€™ve been so glad to have Jenniferโ€™s help keeping the duck and her eggs safe,โ€ said Bohs.

The Haucks are planning on bringing the newborn ducklings to a more natural habitat -- a nearby pond.

Until then the ducklings are drawing even more people to the popular fast food joint.
