Rutgers Develops Plans for Exams as Internet Woes Persist

Rutgers University is developing contingency plans for final online exams as it continues to restore its computer network following a "denial of service" attack that the FBI is investigating.

The university said in an update Thursday evening that the attacks are "ongoing and persistent." Rutgers says it's implementing attack mitigation services, network hardware upgrades and web server improvements to stabilize the issues.

Rutgers' Internet service went down around 10 a.m. Monday. Many online functions are still unavailable to students, faculty and university staff.

The FBI also is investigating a cyberattack that occurred at Rutgers at the beginning of April that lasted five days.
