Ocean City Students' Experiment Launched Into Space

A rocket will carry an experiment designed by Ocean City students to the International Space Station.

Six students are in Virginia to watch Monday night's launch.

Teacher Catherine Georges tells The Press of Atlantic City the students are examining the effect of microgravity on the attachment rate of E. coli bacteria to lettuce leaves.

When their test tube is returned, the students will learn whether their hypothesis that E. coli attaches at a lesser rate in space is true.
