Don't Bring an iPhone to a Microsoft Party

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer shames Microsoft employee for using an iPhone as colleagues boo

The rivalry between Cupertino-based Apple and Redmond-based Microsoft got a shot in the arm at Microsoft's company meeting yesterday.

A Microsoft employee made the mistake of using an iPhone to take a photo of CEO Steve Ballmer during the company's annual meeting at Safeco Field in Seattle.

Ballmer grabbed the Apple-brand device, showed it to the crowd over a chorus of boos, and may have pretended to smash it.

Of course, had it been a phone running Windows Mobile, the person wouldn't have been a laughingstock -- but then they probably would have missed the photo-op, too busy killing applications in the task manager to free enough memory for the camera to function.

Ballmer is no stranger to amateur theatrics, having been accused of throwing a chair in anger over Google and sweating through his shirt and chanting maniacally in an attempt to convince software developers to work with Microsoft.

Jackson West just wishes it were easier to get his Windows phone to connect to his Apple laptop.
