Summer League: Ben Simmons' Scoring Effort Not Enough, Sixers Fall to Bulls

LAS VEGAS – The Sixers lost on a buzzer-beater against the Lakers on Saturday and entered Sunday’s game looking to avenge their last-second defeat.

Instead, they fell to 0-2 in Las Vegas summer league action.

The Bulls beat the Sixers 83-70 on Saturday evening at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game got off to a slow scoring start, and the Bulls pulled away in the third quarter.

Ben Simmons put together an impressive scoring sequence toward the end of the game, but it wasn’t enough for the Sixers to come back. He dropped eight straight points off a driving dunk, driving reverse layup, turnaround jumper and jumpshot.

Inside the box score
Simmons led all players with 18 points (7 for 13 from the floor, 4 for 5 from the line), three rebounds, two assist and three turnovers. He did not record his first assist until less than four minutes to play in the third when Nik Stauskas connected for a jumper.

The Sixers received 14 points from Stauskas and 13 points, six rebounds from Christian Wood.

The Bulls were led by Christiano Felicia's 17-point, 10-rebound double-double. Spencer Dinwiddie dropped 14 points and Denzel Valentine scored 13 points with six rebounds.
