Sixers Sign Euroleague and Former NBA Point Guard Sergio Rodriguez to 1-year, $8 Million Deal

After opting not to take a point guard in the draft and whiffing on one so far in free agency, the Sixers have signed Sergio Rodriguez of the Euroleague to a one-year, $8 million deal, a league source hass confirmed to CSNPhilly.com Sixers insider Jessica Camerato.

The signing was first reported by Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Rodriguez is no stranger to the NBA, though. The 30-year-old guard has played four seasons in the NBA — three with Portland from 2006-09 and half a season with Sacramento in 2009 before being traded to the Knicks to finish out the year.

Rodriguez (6-foot-3, 168 pounds) has an NBA career field goal percentage of 41.8 percent and a three-point field goal percentage of 31.6 percent.

With a logjam in the frontcourt, the Sixers are in need of shooters, and it looks like they might have found one.
