Joel Embiid, Robert Covington Out for Sixers Tonight at Dallas

The Sixers will be down two starters tonight in Dallas.

In addition to being without Joel Embiid, the Sixers won't have Robert Covington, who has been ruled out with a right hand contusion.

It's a big loss given how well Covington has played of late. In the last two games, he's totaled 44 points, 22 rebounds, five assists, seven steals and three blocks.

Covington is actually only the second player in the NBA this season to have two straight games with at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and three steals, joining DeMarcus Cousins.

Butler sprained MCL in Sixers-Heat play-in game, will miss several weeks

Heat's Jimmy Butler expected to miss several weeks with right knee injury: Report

Covington averaged 36.5 minutes in those games, so expect to see more of Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.

Embiid was expected to miss this game. He was listed as doubtful for the Sixers' games Wednesday and Thursday at Dallas and San Antonio, but he obviously won't play in either because he didn't travel with the Sixers to Texas.

Jahlil Okafor will start a second straight game in place of Embiid. Nerlens Noel will come off the bench.

Two-guard Gerald Henderson is probable with hip soreness.
