Forget ‘JoJo,' You Can Call Him Joel ‘The Process' Embiid

Julius Erving was “Dr. J.” Charles Barkley went by many names, including “The Round Mound of Rebound” and “Sir Charles.” Allen Iverson was “The Answer.”

All the great ones have a great nickname. 

The Sixers' next great (hopefully) might have found his: Joel “The Process” Embiid. 

Could there be a better nickname for the man deemed the crown jewel of Sam Hinkie's master plan?

Embiid, already referred to as “JoJo” by some, asked Sixers public address announcer Matt Cord to introduce him as “The Process,” according to John Smallwood of the Philadelphia Daily News.

While the the nickname was asbsent during pregame introductions for the Sixers' preseason home opener on Thursday, Embiid added “The Process” into his Instagram profile name. Basketball-reference.com also put "The Process" into Embiid's bio on its website.

Besides Hinkie himself, no one seemed more committed to the Sixers’ methodical method than Embiid, who often referenced the line “trust the process” in interviews while sitting out for the past two seasons.

If Embiid's nickname sticks, and the Sixers go onto to win the multiple championships so many Philadelphians have patiently waited for, what a way to pay homage to the man that started it all.
