Tonight's Lineup: J.P. Crawford Plays 3B, Bats 7th in MLB Debut

Fans will finally get their first look at J.P. Crawford in a Phillies uniform. The hyped prospect bats seventh and plays third base tonight in his MLB debut against Mets ace Jacob deGrom.

Game 1 for Crawford will be a challenge, just like it was for Rhys Hoskins on Aug. 10 in his own debut against deGrom.

Crawford is expected to see some time at shortstop and third base for the Phillies this month. He also played some at second base in Triple A, so that could be an option.

Crawford started six games at third base at Triple A, converting 18 defensive chances without an error.

He had a rough first few months with Lehigh Valley this season but rebounded the last two months. From July 1 until today's call-up, Crawford hit .285/.385/.544 in 61 games with the IronPigs with 12 doubles, four triples, 13 homers, 36 RBIs, 36 walks and 49 strikeouts.
