Today's Lineup: Aaron Altherr in for Michael Suanders as Outfield Rotation Continues

With his team's glut of outfielders, Phillies manager Pete Mackanin continues to juggle the starting outfield rotation. And Sunday afternoon's finale against the Giants in South Philly (see game notes) will see another look.

Aaron Altherr will get the start in right field on Sunday in place of Michael Saunders, while Howie Kendrick will man left and Odubel Herrera will anchor center against Giants starter Matt Moore. Seeing as how Moore is a southpaw, the rationale behind giving the left-handed Saunders a breather becomes more clear.

Though Altherr, batting fifth Sunday, has struggled some recently with just a .212 average over his last 10 games, he has earned his starts this season with his .291 average, eight home runs and 28 RBI as he continues to be the Phillies' most consistent hitter.

In what Mackanin and the Phils hope is a turning point, Herrera's bat came to life in Saturday's win with two doubles, including a huge bases-clearing one in the seventh inning that gave the Phillies the cushion they needed. Herrera will bat second on Sunday.

In the five games he's played since returning from his oblique injury, Kendrick, who will bat third on Sunday, has hit .300 with a homer and 1 RBI.
