Former Phillie reportedly arrested for battery after altercation with ump while coaching

Former Philadelphia Phillies draftee, catcher Johnny Estrada was arrested yesterday in Panama City Beach, Fla. for battery after shoving an umpire over a disagreement about the umpires call during the game he was coaching, according to WJHG.

Estrada was drafted by the Phillies in 1997 and spent parts of five seasons in the Phillies organization, including playing 99 games with the club during the 2001 and 2002 seasons combined. He was traded to the Atlanta Braves for Kevin Millwood and he finished his career in 2008 with 612 games play at the Major League level.

Estrada had a run-in with an umpire during his time in the Majors in 2005 while a member of the Braves when he bumped umpire Doug Eddings. He was suspended three games and fined an undisclosed amount for the incident.

He was also arrested in 2013 on domestic violence charges
