Former Phillies pitcher Antonio Bastardo revived a bird this afternoon when the Pirates were taking batting practice at PNC Park, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Perhaps the Phillies could bring Bastardo back to Philadelphia and revive the lifeless Phillies lineup and pitching staff after the Mets handed them a 14-4 whooping Tuesday.
Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco discovered the injured bird in the outfield and brought it to Bastardo for further examination. The former Phillies reliever performed a series of revival techniques on his new feathered friend while the rest of the team made its way to the clubhouse.

Pirates pitching coach Ray Searage offered his services suggesting they should use the crazy glue he has at the park. Even in theory that still seems like a bad idea.

In the end, Bastardo's effort was fruitless as the bird could not take flight. The grounds crew put the bird in a shoebox and took it outside the stadium. There is no update on the bird's health.
