Instant Replay: Bruins 6, Flyers 3

BOX SCORE

BOSTON - The Flyers are No. 1 in the NHL in … goals against.

Saturday's 6-3 blowout loss to the Bruins at TD Garden saw that total rise to 143 goals against by the Flyers - most in the NHL.

The Bruins blew the game open with four goals in the second period and unrelenting pressure in the Flyers' end. Dave Hakstol's club is now 0-6-2 in its last eight road games.

Michal Neuvirth, the hero goaltender against Vancouver, started for the Flyers and had little help in the defeat.

The Bruins came into play 7-2-1 against the Flyers in their previous 10 games, including 5-0-1 here in Beantown.

Jakub Voracek was nailed with a five-minute major in the second period for boarding Kevin Miller, who stumbled himself into the boards as Voracek turned to avoid the hit, going butt-on-butt.

Double 500s
This was Boston's Brad Marchand 500th NHL game, while David Krejci's goal that gave Boston a 2-1 lead in the second period was his 500th career point. Marchand had five points in the game.

Notable goals
Pierre-Edouard Bellemare's deflected goal in the first period represented back-to-back games in which he scored. This was Bellemare's 200th game as a Flyer.

Points
Ivan Provorov's assist gave Flyers' defense 101 points this season - most in the NHL.

Shorthanded goal
The Flyers gave up their league-high eighth shortie in the first period. Sean Couturier couldn't handle a Dale Weiss pass at the point and it rolled to Marchand for a breakaway goal in which his shot actually flubbed off his stick under Neuvirth.

Goalie report
Neuvirth had trouble tracking pucks. He finished with 33 saves on 38 shots.

Power play
Not a good start by allowing a shorthanded goal. Brayden Schenn's league-leading 11th power-play goal make it, 3-2. Wayne Simmonds picked up a late goal in the middle stanza as well.

Penalty kill
The Flyers nearly cleared the puck at the blue line, but a fine play from Frank Vatrano kept the puck in as Krejci scored. Patrice Bergeron scored a crushing goal late in the second period with just 24 seconds left on a five-minute power play to make it 4-2, as the PK units gave up two goals.

Injuries
Miller was shaken on a head-first hit into the back boards by Voracek and didn't return. That could mean a hearing for Voracek from the Department of Player Safety.

Assigned
Boyd Gordon cleared waivers and was assigned to the Phantoms.

Scratches
Defensemen Nick Schultz (healthy) and Shayne Gostisbehere (healthy); forward Matt Read (skate cut).
