Get excited. It's almost hockey season.
And to commemorate the Flyers 50th anniversary season, the team has raised newly-designed banners in the Wells Fargo Center.
Unlike the team's 50th anniversary jerseys — which were met with some criticism for having too much gold (see story) — the banners stick to the traditional orange, black and white colors of the Flyers.
Flyers legends Bob Clarke, Mark Howe, and Bill Barber and others will also have newly-designed number retirement banners.
The banners were raised before tickets for the Flyers-Penguins Alumni Game go on sale on Friday. Clarke, Howe and Barber will all play in the game on Jan. 14.
