Comcast Spectacor Bringing Professional Lacrosse Back to Philadelphia

Professional lacrosse is coming back to Philadelphia.

Comcast Spectacor is set to acquire a National Lacrosse League franchise, as a team name plan and further details were announced during a news conference Thursday at the Wells Fargo Center.

Philadelphia's previous team, the Wings, played in the NLL before relocating to New England in 2013 to become the Black Wolves. The Wings were established in 1986.

Comcast Spectacor president and CEO Dave Scott, as well as NLL commissioner Nick Sakiewicz and other key figures, will be on hand Thursday for the formal announcement.
