Report: Eagles showing some interest in bringing back Jeremy Maclin

Despite a pretty full wide receiver room, the Eagles are at least reportedly thinking about adding Jeremy Maclin.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles have expressed some interest in bringing back their former star receiver, who was cut by the Chiefs on Friday afternoon.

Maclin reportedly has a visit scheduled with Buffalo on Tuesday and possibly Baltimore on Wednesday. Schefter lists the Browns and Eagles as two other teams who have shown at least some interest.

The Eagles might have interest, but it seems like some of those other teams have a better shot at landing the former Bird. In this offseason, the Eagles signed Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, then drafted Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson to give second-year quarterback Carson Wentz some more receiving weapons in addition to Jordan Matthews and Zach Ertz.

The Chiefs cut Maclin as an apparent salary cap casualty. The move saved them around $10 million the team needed desperately.

In 2016, Maclin had a down year, catching 44 passes for 536 yards and two touchdowns. His first year in Kansas City (2015), he had 87 catches for over 1,000 yards and eight touchowns. Maclin's best season was his last in Philly; in 2014, he caught 85 balls for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns.
