NFL Draft Fan Registrations Up More Than 200 Percent for Philly Draft

Philadelphia expects a boatload of fans to attend the 2017 NFL draft, but the city's numbers might have been a bit off.

According to the NFL, via ESPN, 168,000 fans have signed up for the fan mobile pass for the draft, as of March 31. Mayor Jim Kenney estimated that 200,000 people would gather at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the draft lasting from April 27-29.

In comparison, 54,000 fans signed up for the 2016 draft in Chicago in that same period. With the draft in Philadelphia, registrations are up by more than 200 percent. Also, for the first time ever, fans from every state have registered for the draft. The top five states in terms of sign-ups are Pennsylvania and neighboring states New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Delaware.

Fans who sign up for the mobile pass will randomly be selected to win tickets to the NFL draft theatre, which seats around 3,000 people. Fans who don't sign up for the pass can still show up to the free festival on the Parkway.

You can check out all of the details about the fan experience at the Parkway, as well as road closings, here.
