Josh Sweat's Bucket List Item: Learn to Snowboard

Each week during the season, we're going through the Eagles media guide and finding an interesting nugget.

This week, we chatted with rookie defensive end Josh Sweat.

His bucket list item is "learn to snowboard."

Me: So it says in the media guide that your biggest bucket list item is to learn how to snowboard? Is that right?

Sweat: I've always wanted to snowboard.

Me: Do you ski?

Sweat: I haven't done anything.

Me: So why snowboarding?

Sweat: I don't know. It's just always looked cool. I just saw it when I was growing up. I haven't really been in an area that had like mountains and stuff that I could just, you know what I mean, snowboard down. It's just something I always wanted to do.

Me: Where did you grow up?

Sweat: Virginia. And I'm in the southeast part by the water. There's not a lot of stuff going on there.

Me: Do you think that's something you'll actually cross off one day?

Sweat: Oh yeah, definitely. Definitely. I got a lot of opportunities now. Just make that happen at any time. Maybe after the season one day.

Me: How's your balance? I think you need balance for that. I don't know. I don't snowboard either.

Sweat: I think it's alright. I think I'll be good. I'm gonna fall like a hundred times before … I don't think I should do it though. Because if I get hurt snowboarding … you know what I mean?

Me: You might have to push it off until after football.

Sweat: Yeah, yeah. I might be out of the window now. (Laughing). I don't know. I can't get hurt snowboarding.

Me: Well the snow is soft, right? Actually, no, it's probably packed down.

Sweat: I don't know. I don't want to speak it into existence, but you never know.

Me: (now laughing) Yeah why don't we push it off for a while.

Sweat: Yeah, I'm gonna push that off. Yeah.

Me: That makes sense. Thank you, man.

Sweat: No problem.
