Eagles Cuts Tracker to 53: QBs Matt McGloin, Dane Evans Are Gone

Updated: 5:36 p.m.

The fourth preseason game is out of the way, but there's plenty of work to do.

Namely, the Eagles have to cut their roster down from 86 players to 53 by Saturday's 4 p.m. deadline. There will be a lot of players cut from around the league thanks to doing away with the initial cut to 75.

Follow along here:

QB Matt McGloin - McGloin played a lot in the preseason (out of necessity) and clearly didn't do enough. The Penn State product was cut on Friday, according NJ.com's Matt Lombardo. In four preseason games, the 27-year-old McGloin went 76 for 109 for 581 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions and a passer rating of 73.99. Comfortable with Nick Foles' health, it appears the Eagles will carry only two QBs.

QB Dane Evans - Evans will also be axed Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan. Evans, the fourth and final QB on the depth chart, was not expected to stick. In the preseason, the Tulsa product went 23 for 43 for 224 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions and a passer rating of 47.

WR Paul Turner - The Eagles on Friday waived/injured the receiver, who was last year's camp darling, a league source told CSNPhilly.com's Dave Zangaro. Turner suffered a fractured scapula this year and couldn't get on the field. The source said he also reached an injury settlement, so Turner will become a free agent once he clears waivers.
