Four days after he was cut by the Eagles, Josh Huff has found a landing spot.
The Bucs have signed the former Eagle to their practice squad.
"I'm very fortunate and I'm very blessed," Huff told the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud. "At the same time, mistakes happen. Lessons are learned."
The Eagles cut Huff on Thursday after the former third-round pick practiced with the team on Wednesday. Vice president of football operations Howie Roseman and Doug Pederson elected to not go into too many specifics of their fact-finding search but said cutting Huff was in the best interest of the team.
Huff, 25, was arrested last Tuesday after getting pulled over speeding across the Walt Whitman Bridge toward his New Jersey home.
Police found a handgun registered in Texas, a full magazine, hollow point bullets and less than 50 grams of marijuana. Huff was charged with several things, including unlawful possession of a firearm. Huff has a hearing in Camden County on Nov. 15.

“I left it very open as to the point that we needed to gather more information, we need to go through the whole process before these decisions are made on this football team,” Pederson said on Friday, two days after Huff practiced. “And so, you never know. You never know. Something could happen today. Something could happen next week. Everything is on an individual basis. Until we get the information, until we go through our process with this one, then we’ll make the decision."
The Eagles originally took Huff in the third round of the 2014 draft out of Oregon. He never really made a mark as a receiver but had become a threat as a kick returner with an average of 27.74 yards per return over his time in Philly.
