Great Finishes at the Philadephia Marathon

Daniel Vassallo took top honors in the Philadelphia Marathon Sunday. The 25-year-old runner from Massachusetts finished the race with a time of 2:21:28.

Mariska Kramer was the top female finisher with a time of record time of 2:38:55. She's 36 and from the Netherlands. Kramer was about a minute shy of the record time of 2:37:59.

In the half-marathon, two 25-year-olds took top honors. Kenya's Kitrotich Kirui finished in just over an hour: 1:04:02 and Hirut Mandefro from Ethiopia was the top female runner with a time of 1:17:52.

George Gallego won the wheelchair division. The New Yorker, 43, rolled in with a 2:34:34 finish.

It was, cool gorgeous day for competing in the 17th Philadelphia Marathon.

One guy beat his girlfriend from Bryn Anthyn in the race and then promptly proposed. It was one of the more memorable moments of the day according to race officials. Her finger was a little bit swollen from the run, but she managed to get the ring on!

The Philadelphia Marathon's website was down most of the morning, making results and information hard to come by.
