76ers power forward Marreese Speights will be out for about six to eight weeks after an MRI showed he has a tear on his left knee.
Team physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy of Main Line Health said that Speights has a partial tear of the Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL).
Speights injured his left knee in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls beat the Sixers 94-88.
The 22-year-old averaged 13 points and 6.4 rebounds in the first 10 games. He averaged 7.7 points and 3.7 rebounds as a rookie last year.
