Sixers Hoping for Some “Fan Appreciation”

Team offers up freebies to fans

There hasn’t been much to cheer about for Sixers fans this season but finally some good news -- the seemingly endless road towards the bottom will soon end for the 2009-2010 76ers.

The reward for sticking it out? Possibly an Apple iPad, PlayStation 3 or high-def TV.

The sorry Sixers play their last home game of the season Monday night against the Miami Heat. And, the 27-win Sixers are going to be giving away lots of goodies on "Fan Appreciation Night.”

A few lucky fans will get to go home with the big tech prizes but there will be plenty of other giveaways as well including free McDonald’s Big Macs, Sixers Camp certificates and Dave & Buster’s Power Cards.

And, every fan will get a team photo (oh the memories) and there will be $1 SuperPretzels all night.

For the true basketball purist -- or someone who wants to focus on the future of the Sixers instead of the present -- the team will also be giving away a chance to see a pre-Draft workout as the Sixers try out possible future stars this summer. Plus, the Sixers will be handing fans game-worn jerseys and shoes from the team.

And, the Sixers are trying to bank in on the National League-champion Phillies’ opening across the street at Citizens Bank Park -- fans can buy a $5 ticket to the Sixers’ 7 p.m. game just by showing a ticket stub from the Phillies afternoon game.

Of course the biggest gift the Sixers will give fans is the merciful end to this terrible season.
