Birds' CB Ready for Bears

Smiling Sheldon Brown seems ready to go.

Injured Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown looked ready to play Sunday Night against the Bears.

Brown was on the field before the Chicago game testing out his gimpy hamstring. After trying out some moves he shook hands with Birds’ trainer Rick Burkholder and was all smiles looking as though he would suit up, reported NBCPhiladelphia’s John Clark.

Brown wasn't listed on inactive list so it looked official that would play.

The already thinned defensive back corps could ill afford to lose Brown who strained his hamstring in the team’s Week 10 loss at San Diego.

Brown “pledged” to play earlier in the week, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Brown was likely licking his chops for a chance to face Bears quarterback Jay Cutler who is known to throw a few picks here and there. Brown is better suited to pounce on the mistake-prone Cutler than back ups like Dimitri Patterson, Jack Ikegwuonu or Ramzee Robinson.

While Brown would play star running back Brian Westbrook wouldn’t. B-West could miss up to three games as he recovers from his second concussion of the season.

Other guys that won’t suit up for the Birds Sunday included running back P.J. Hill, safety Quintin Demps, linebacker Akeem Jordan, wideout Kevin Curtis, third-string QB Kevin Kolb guard Mike McGlynn and guard Stacy Andrews.

Notable inactive Bears included linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa and tight end Desmond Clark.
