Happy “Halladay” from Clearwater

Find out what's up "Doc"

As the chilly weather begins to break here in Philly, visions of Roy Halladay are dancing in our heads.

Here’s what people around the Web wrote about the “Doc” and how he looks in workouts in Clearwater, Fla. with the rest of the Phillies.

From Phillies beat writer Todd Zolecki's Twitter feed:
Halladay, on Santana's comments that he's best: "I think it was a Lou Holtz quote, 'Well done is always more important than well said.'"

Manager Charlie Manuel was certan of who's No. 1:
He's the top pitcher in the game right now. He gives us a big horse at the top.

Not only is Halladay arguably the best pitcher in baseball, but he also knows how to conduct himself at a press conference.  It’s clear that he’s not letting a statement made by a dreaded Met get him rattled.

There must be ice water in this Doc’s veins.

From allthingsphilly's Twitter:
I think we all need to pace ourselves on the Halladay Love. The man is going to have some serious stalkers by Mid-March at this rate.

Agreed, to a certain point. It’s hard enough for a player to get comfortable in a new city, especially in Philly under some pressure.

The more love Phils fans show, the more comfortable Roy gets. The more comfortable Roy gets, the better Roy plays. The better Roy plays, the happier it makes Phightins' faithful.

As far as the stalkers go, he’s inheriting Cliff Lee’s leftovers. He’s going to have a fan club, to say the least.

From Scott Lauber's Twitter:
Halladay on what he's most looking forward to about joining a new team: "Postseason."

This might be the best post of the day. Not only does the man have confidence in himself, but the entire team as well.

“I've always had my own expectations, my own ways that I've tried to go about my job as far as preparing myself and competing and those are things I'm going to continue to do," Doc said. "I expect to go out and compete the best I can. I've always expected that. I don't feel like there's anything added in that department. Obviously getting to the postseason is more expected here, but that's why I wanted to be here, so I'm looking forward to that part of it.”

Fans can’t wait to see him mowing down Mets, Marlins, Braves, and Nationals en route to another division title.

Of course there is one problem that could comes up this season -- Doc Halladay fever. But, there is a cure. Just sit back, close your eyes and imagine him pitching in October at The Bank with white rally towels waving in the cool autumn air.

And, of course, Motley Crue’s Dr. Feelgood blasting throughout the stadium.
