Kasprzyk, Men's 8 Advance to Olympic Final

Women's Quadruple Scull with Pa.'s Natalie Dell finishes 2nd in heat

The U.S. Men’s Eight Olympic Rowing Team -- with Cinnaminson’s Steve Kasprzyk on board -- got off to a good start Saturday morning as they won their first heat with a time of 5:30:72.

Australia finished second in the heat with Poland third and Ukraine fourth.

The Americans were lucky to have drawn the heat they did considering their time would have lost to Germany, Netherlands and Great Britain. The Germans joined the Americans in Wednesday’s Final A with a time of 5:25:52.

The U.S. Women’s Quadruple Scull with Pa.’s Natalie Dell on board put up the second best time in their heat with powerhouse Germany. The Germans put up a time of 6:13:62 to beat the Americans (6:15:76) by about two seconds.

Dell and her teammates now must row in Monday’s Repechage where they will be in Lane 4 with a chance to still make the Olympic final in the race.
