Eagles Keep Rocking With Rocca

The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed punter Sav Rocca to a one-year contract, the team announced Thursday.

The Australian poocher was the team's last unsigned restricted free agent.

The 36-year-old Rocca had a franchise-best 38.3 yards net average in 2009, breaking his single-season record of 37.9 set in 2008. He has averaged 42.6 gross yards per punt in his three seasons in Philadelphia while sending 74 punts inside the 20-yard line.

But, despite Rocca’s success at going the distance the Eagles are giving him some competition signing former Georgia Tech punter Durant Brooks this offseason.

Rocca played 15 years in the Australian Football League before joining the Eagles in 2007.
