Pronger Pays Back the Smack Talk

Flyers' defenseman says Adam Burish is minor league

Let's just say they won't be hugging and making up anytime soon.

The Philadelphia Flyers' Chris Pronger on Friday said he was surprised that Blackhawks defenseman Adam Burish would celebrate his team's Stanley Cup win by talking smack about him.

"I think Chris Pronger is the biggest idiot in the league," Burish told NBC Chicago's Paula Faris after winning the Stanley Cup. "I can't stand him one bit. I hope I never have to see him again. If I see him, I might punch him."

Pronger said he was asked about the remark but doesn't "comment on people who aren't really around and just want five minutes of fame."

"Did he play?" Pronger asked reporters.

"Not in the last three games," one answered.

"There you go," Pronger said.

And when another reporter offered up Burish's comment about punching Pronger the next time he saw him, Pronger paused and then cracked, "Where’s that, in the minors?"
