The Domonic Brown era is only one game old, but it’s looking pretty darn good so far.
The top prospect made his major league debut Wednesday night in a Phillies uniform and made the most of it, stroking two hits and scoring two RBI in a 7-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Brown, a 20th-round pick in the 2006 draft, was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley after outfielder Shane
Victorino went on the 15-day disabled list with an abdominal strain.
Brown went to work right away, rapping an RBI double in his first major league at-bat; the ball almost cleared the wall for a homer.
Phils pitcher Roy Halladay (12-8) carried the load, tossing a six-hit complete game.
Jayson Werth went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Carlos Ruiz went 3 for 4 with three RBIs for the Phillies, who have won seven
straight overall and 10 in a row at home.
The Phils take on the Diamondbacks again tonight at Citizens Bank Park.
