Philly Native Now Richest Guard in NFL

Jahri Evans signed a seven-year, $56.7 deal with the New Orleans Saints Wednesday

Philadelphia native Jahri Evans agreed on a seven-year, $56.7 million deal with the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, according to ESPN.com. The deal is the biggest deal for a guard in the NFL.

In just four years in the NFL, the Bloomsburg University grad has quickly become one of the league’s top offensive linemen. The 2006 fourth-round pick was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2010 and started for the NFC.

Evans, 26, has been a fixture on the Saints offensive line from day one. He has started all 64 games in his NFL career.

He is also a fixture in the Philadelphia community. Evans graduated from Frankford High School and continues to give back to his hometown.

The guard started The Jahri Evans Foundation, an organization created to advance education, provide relief to the poor and instruct youth to improve and develop their athletic capabilities.

Evans also hosts a camp for offensive line every summer in the Philadelphia area.
