Phillies Going Diva for National Anthem

Country star Taylor Swift and R&B legend Patti LaBelle set to sing

The Phillies have tapped country star Taylor Swift and R&B legend Patti LaBelle to sing the National anthem at the World Series.

Swift, a Reading native, will give the Game 3 "Star Spangled Banner" a bit of country flair on Saturday night.

LaBelle, the legendary Philly-R&B queen, will be belting out the Anthem Sunday night before Game 4.

The Phillies put the word out today on those choices, riding the wave of bad buzz over the Backstreet Boys singing the National Anthem at Game 1 in Tampa Bay.

Country megastar Tim McGraw will add some guy flavor to the Game 3 festivities as  he accompanies a member of the Boys & Girls Club of America who will be delivering the ceremonial first ball.

McGraw's father Tug is forever linked to the 1980 Phillies championship team. The elder McGraw closed out the Game 6 clincher for the Phils.
