The Babes of Baseball

Take a walk through the maternity ward at St. Mary Medical Center in Bucks County, Pa. and you'll be sure to see some familiar names.

"We had Chase, Shane, Ryan...we did have one Cole, we had a couple Bens, we had a Jason and I know there was others," Nurse Patty Crocker says.

See the connection to one some World Champions? It seems the true Phillie phanatics are becoming parents and honoring the home team with their first-born.

"She's named after Phillies second baseman Chase Utley," new mom Anna Frymier said of her daughter Chayse. She says the family's always been die-hard fans and Chayse's grandfather Toby even played for the Reading Phillies.

Cole Samuel may be named after "Hollywood" Hamels, but the name wasn't his parents' first choice.

"Actually, he was Raul for a day, Jimmy for a couple weeks and we decided on Cole," Jennifer Gettes said.

Nurse Patty Crocker says the staff started noticing the red and white trend in August when they had a baby boom.

With a flip of the calendar, she quickly figured out the Phillies became World Champs just nine months before.

"It appears that St. Mary dads were hitting home runs along with the Phillies," said Crocker.

The nurses aren't alone. While doing a dual delivery, Dr. Christopher Sliwinski had one family welcome Cole into the world and just next door there was Chase.

What do the Phillies have to say about the "coincidence?"

They love it -- so much that they sent a box of rally towels to the hospital.

Wonder what will happen if the Phils clinch tonight? Hmm...
